Kogi BBQ Tacos Live Up to the Hype!
I’ve been reading for quite a while about the delicious Korean BBQ tacos from the Kogi BBQ truck and was finally able to have them tonight. Here’s how it went down:
9:05 - Show up at 830 S. Broadway and don’t see the Kogi Truck. Am really terrified that I drove all the way downtown for nothing.
9:15 - Do a few loops and come back and see the truck pulling up. FUCK YEAH.
9:20 - Waiting in line, god damn this smells good.
9:25 - I order 2 spicy pork tacos, 2 short rib tacos, and a spicy pork kimchi quesadilla.
9:30 - They call my name, I get 3 spicy pork tacos, 2 short rib tacos and a cheese kimchi quesadilla. Woops. Kogi makes a mistake and says they will make me a spicy pork quesadilla pronto. “What happens to the extra spicy pork taco and the extra cheese quesadilla?” THEY GIVE THEM TO ME FREE OF CHARGE AND I EAT THE FUCK OUT OF THEM. THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS. WIN-WIN.
The spicy pork quesadilla was the standout. I couldn’t believe how well cheese and kimchi could go together. The spicy pork tacos were also fantastic. I saw some Kogi regulars getting little sliders, which also looked nice.
Bottom line - its as good as everyone says.
